OPENWATER DIVER copy.jpg

To scuba dive all around the world you'll need to start with the PADI Openwater Diver course.

Once completed this course allows you to dive anywhere to a depth of 18m. It lasts for life although an annual refresh is highly recommended if someone hasnt dived for a year.

The course is broken down into 3 parts:

  • An elearning course that is completed in your own time on a phone/tablet/pc etc including a final exam.

  • There are then the lessons in the pool. You will have between 5-7 lessons depending on how quickly we get through the skills.

  • After all the skills have been completed in a pool we spend a weekend at a lake so that you can practice the skills in a real world environment.

There are 2 ways to do the course.

Full course with us in the UK.

This is £600.

This includes all elearning and tuition, pool lessons, equipment hire and final E-certification. Does not include lake entries, air used at lake, travel, food and accommodation.

The other way is to do what is called a referral course.

This is £300 with us.

This includes the elearning and the pool lessons. To complete the course you would then book up with a dive centre whilst on holiday to do the dives we'd usually do in a lake. The centre abroad will also charge you a fee of around £300, it varies by location.

If you decide to go for the openwater course we would need a non-refundable £100 deposit to get the elearning for you. The balance could be paid over several months, we just ask that the full amount is paid before we head to the lake or before the end of the pool lessons for the referral course.

Please take a look at our dates for the next available start.

On lesson 1 you will be asked to swim 200m (not timed) and tread water for 10 minutes. You also need to fill in a medical form.
