Autumn Adventures at Gildenburgh Water!

Hold onto your wetsuits, folks! Autumn has officially arrived, and with it comes a splash of excitement at our favorite training lake, Gildenburgh Water. This past Saturday kicked off with a drive into the darkness, but the thrill of the day ahead kept our spirits high!

Getting Ready to Dive In

As the sun began to peek through the clouds, we gathered for our usual check-ins, site briefings, and equipment prep. The anticipation was palpable as divers of all levels came together for a weekend filled with learning and fun!

A Mix of Courses and New Beginnings

This October weekend was a melting pot of diving adventures! We had enthusiastic divers completing their Open Water Diver courses after training with us, while others were upgrading from previous levels after their international diving escapades. And let’s not forget Baz, who joined us to learn the ins and outs of teaching the Full Face Mask specialty!

Success Under the Surface

Saturday was a breeze! Everyone completed their planned dives, and we wrapped up the day with a big cheer for our new Scuba Diver and an upgraded Open Water Diver. The water, still pleasantly mild at a cozy 14 degrees, made for a comfortable diving experience, especially with everyone sporting their warm suits.

From mastering mask removal to perfecting hovers and navigation, our divers shone like the stars they are! After a day of diving, we all headed home for some well-deserved rest, ready to tackle Sunday’s adventures.

Foggy but Fabulous!

Sunday greeted us with a thick blanket of fog that made our drive to the lake quite the adventure. Visibility? Not the best! But did that stop us? Absolutely not! The fog hung around like an uninvited guest, but it couldn’t dampen our spirits.

We swiftly completed the Open Water courses from Saturday while kicking off a new course for Lucy, who will be back next week to finish up alongside a Drysuit course. Baz was back in action, putting his Full Face Mask skills to the test under the watchful eye of our in-house Course Director, Karl.

High Fives All Around!

Despite the less-than-ideal conditions, everyone kept smiles on their faces and tackled all their tasks with enthusiasm. A huge shoutout from the dive team—Ben, Pat, and Karl—to our latest achievers:

  • Scuba Diver: Sharon

  • Open Water Divers: Maxine, Noah, and Warren

  • Full Face Mask Instructor: Baz

We can’t wait to hear about all the amazing places you’ll take your new skills!

What's Next?

We’ll be back next Sunday to help Lucy complete her courses and tackle a few more before winter sets in. And remember, we’re running our pool sessions all year round! So, if you’re ready to dive into your own scuba adventure and earn your PADI, get in touch with us!
