The PADI Self Reliant Diver Specialty course introduces you to basic concepts of self sufficiency and redundancy underwater. You will discover the special considerations and planning that are needed to dive safely without buddy backup. This course will make you the ultimate buddy especially to yourself, increasing confidence and skill. Whether taking photographs or just drifting along on a current knowing that you have the skill and equipment to be perfectly self reliant is an amazing confidence boost. Every dive becomes relaxed. During your PADI Self Reliant Diver certification course, you learn about: Planning, organisation, procedures, techniques, problems and hazards of Self Reliant diving. An introduction to specific Self Reliant diving equipment & redundancies of all important kit. Buoyancy-control, navigation and emergency drills required for Self Reliant diving Site selection and overview of aquatic currents – causes and effect. Prerequisites Minimum 100 dives. Minimum 18 years old. PADI Advanced Open Water or higher qualification. You will complete PADI eLearning and 3 dives over a weekend.

Pool spaces cost us money, so please read all of the below. Please make sure you have read the medical form BEFORE you book your sessions. If you answer "yes" to any of the questions, please get in touch with us before booking. If you answer "no" to all of the questions on the diver medical, you can use this link to complete your booking. Medical form: www.scubanow.org/medical Your booking is not secured until payment has been received and we have confirmed your session date or course start date. We will do our best to accommodate your preferred date, but if we need to change your requested date, we will give you as much notice as possible. If we cannot offer you your preferred date and we are not able to offer you an appropriate alternative date, we will refund you your money in full. Once your session or course is confirmed, to cancel or reschedule please contact us no later than 48 hours before the session is due to start. If you contact us less than 48 hours before the session, we reserve the right to still charge you the full price of the course. If you contact more than 48 hours before the session, we will reschedule to another available date or refund your payment in full (less the booking fee which is approximate 5% of the course or session cost). If you attend your session but you are not able to dive for reasons related to the questions on the medical form, we reserve the right to still charge you the full price for the course. If you have any questions about the form, please contact us before booking.
